Lunar New Year with Carmen

Happy Lunar New Year to our Caraa community!

Aaron and I (Car+Aa) are very proud of our Chinese heritage and I want to steal a second from Caraa to celebrate CNY with you.

Try to read this out loud: “Zhu ni sheng ti jian kang wan shi ru yi!” Which translates to “May you be in good health and reach all your goals in this new year!”

We are Chinese-born-in-Spain. Growing up, Chinese New Year wasn’t celebrated there so we would watch the celebrations through the only satellite TV channel that we had access to: CCTV4. Nevertheless, void of CNY paraphernalia, we gathered our families, about 30 people, in one restaurant every year and closed the doors to spend a wild evening with the best Chinese dishes we could make with Spanish ingredients, drinks, and a microphone; we shared it all: young and old.
